In July 2005 three of us spent 3 weeks in Bolivia, part of which was spent cycling in some of the world's most desolate and beautiful high altitude scenery.

Most of our cycling was between 4000 and 5000m, but our high point was the 5700m up the volcano Uturunco, which claims to have the world's highest road. From the saddle between the 2 peaks I left my bike and hiked to the top at 6020m.

Camera kit that I took: Canon 20D, Sigma 18-50 f2.8 EX, Canon 75-300 USM, Flashtax 30 GB hard disk, solar panel and charger. Now I would just take lots of cheap CF cards and spare batteries for a similar trip, instead of the solar panel.
